VIRTUAL TPA 2020

Over the last 50+ years, Ontario’s accountants have come together to support our vulnerable communities through the Tax Preparation Assistance (TPA) program.

Though the clinics cannot take place in person this year, we are pleased to announce that we have worked with our partners at the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to ensure we can still offer support through virtual tax clinics.

While we are all facing disruption, we are proud of the profession for continuing to support its communities in a new, online way.

CPA Ontario is not recruiting additional volunteers for this year’s online clinics. Only those volunteers who had already registered earlier this year and received confirmation from the CRA are able to participate. If you have any questions or if you would like to volunteer directly through the CRA, please contact: CVITP.ON.CPA@cra-arc.gc.ca

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

CPA Ontario has unified its program with the CRA's Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). When you register to volunteer, you’re encouraged to indicate that you’d like to be connected with your local CPA Ontario Association. In doing so, you’ll be connected to a coordinator from your local Association for placement in a clinic run by CPA Ontario as part of the CVITP. If those clinics do not suit your schedule, you can also volunteer with the CVITP and your coordinator will connect you to a placement that fits your availability.
