CGA Ontario is a member of the Ontario Regulators for Access Consortium (ORAC).

 
 
 
 
 
 

The CGA designation is recognized across Canada and around the world as a standard of excellence and professionalism in all aspects of accounting, finance and business management.

CGA Ontario recognizes those who received post-secondary education abroad for advanced standing in the CGA program of professional studies.

CGA Ontario will assess your courses for transfer  credits towards the CGA program. CGA Ontario may also evaluate your degree for equivalency to a Canadian degree. CGA Ontario may require that you have your degrees assessed by an outside agency to verify equivalency and/or authenticity. Copies of your original transcripts will be accepted if they are notarized in Canada. Those submitting notarized copies must include the reason for being unable to attain sealed copies within your application for transfer credits.


CGA Ontario accepts assessments from the following agencies:

  1. World Education Services (WES) - Ontario, Canada

  2. University of Toronto Comparative Education Service (CES) - Ontario, Canada

  3. International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) - Alberta, Canada

  4. International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES) - British Columbia, Canada


To enrol in the CGA program of professional studies you must:

  • Be a resident of Ontario   

  • Be bondable (You have not been found guilty of a criminal offence)


To obtain the CGA designation in Ontario you must:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree from an approved degree granting university.

  • Successfully complete CGA Ontario’s program of professional studies.

  • Satisfy the professional experience requirement.

Individuals applying through the mutual recognition agreements must complete the application form found on CGA Canada’s website and forward a complete application to CGA Ontario.
